The online arm of the Jadavpur University Society for American Studies welcomes contributions for its monthly issues.
Papers must necessarily deal with topics pertaining most relevantly to The United States of America and/or its cultural interaction with other countries, or vice-versa.
Intending contributors are requested to submit an abstract in not more than 300 words about the nature of their paper which may deal with Theory, Literature, Theatre, Performing Arts, Music, Cinema, Graphic Media (including but not exclusively Photographs and Comic Books/Graphic Novels).
Being an online arm, we are able to take advantage of the Internet for both relevant images and videos, if any.
For images, whether embedded in the paper or hyperlinked, we will strictly insist on citations at the cost of not including the image in question.
For videos, while it is possible to post from all sources, the site only embeds YouTube videos. Contributors are urged to source all material from YouTube as far as possible, linking sites like Dailymotion, Vimeo and Metacafe only as a last resort. Videos from these sites can be hyperlinked but not embedded.
We also request contributors to insert pictures and/or links to pictures/videos at the appropriate points in the paper sent. Otherwise the editing team will have to insert the same at points according to their discretion.
We must also mention that citations and documentation should be in the style approved by the MLA Handbook, 7th Edition.
Mail your abstracts and subsequently your papers to either (but preferably both) of the following IDs:
We eagerly look forward to your contributions.
